Well, Shrub cleaned things up so it's time I come clean. I did not build the pick I posted :lol:

. It was a factory job. It did get some people posting their work though which was my intention.

last night my internet was lost and because of how good your pic looked zeke i made the best looking pick i ever made.

i was coping my rytan double ended pick/ hook and dimond. i have a nice pick now lol.

I will post my pick in a few days. Things here have been hectic so i'm lagging behind schedule.

Should be a little interesting, incorporated a different design handle made from a strip of .064 Aluminum sheeting, i'm thinking it should transfer feedback a little more on the top and bottom of the handle, just need to decide whether to use a standard working end (something we've all seen) or, design a new tip.

Keep the ideas and imaginations flowing guys.

I have made a few pick designs and got them out to some of the best lockpickers on the site to evaluate them, but as these are concepts not yet worked through, they could need some modification to complete them, so far I have gotten very little feedback on these. no one ever even mentions them, most are varients of dimple picks. I think what was happening was that the pick tips are likly too large for the concept behind them to be truly tested, and that would have required that the person testing do a little bit of final tweaking with a small file or some sand paper to reduce the pick tips a bit, but apparently, people think that they are unmodifiable or just not worth the trouble.
for dimple picks, commercial sets I have only seen in thumbnail pics on the net, but I had this concept to reach a beveled twist behind the pin and lift it by both pullin on it to lift it on the bevel, and also by twisting the pick shaft. these are very easy to make, a sharp bend in a piece of sweeper bristle, and then the chain saw file cuts a groove right next to and somewhat into the bend, then the end is cliped off just around the bend with a dykes, and filed to a nice round, last, another cut along the edge to be wasted marks the far end of the pick shaft, and a flat file wastes the material between the two grooves til only a thin shaft is left. there is very little finishing left to do, they are easy and quick to make, but the pick tips would probably need some tweaking according to the lock they are working on, to make them fit best. this could be done with a small flat file and some sand paper. probably a number of people on the site have seen some of these, but no one ever mentions them, I am still thinking the concept is sound, and the tips only need a little modification to make them work. If anyone has used them or has their own versions, some feedback would be nice. db?

Very interesting, I have a few Kaba Dimple Locks I have not gotten into yet. I have not got around to making some dimple picks for them, I would like to try one or two.

BTW, Have you gotten ahold of any oval bike spokes yet?

OOo just lemme ge my camera.. well my sis's. I just spent 2 hours ont his pick. Pretty cool stuff. It should work in some dimples and all pin tumblers (a hook)

i made a diffrent pick. i took a feeler gauge and made three holes going down the center. i have round spring steel and cut 5 inch pieces of all diffrent thickness. i take the 5" pieces and bend a L shape at the bottom and a small hook on the other end. then i weave it threw the feeler gauge and i have a nice thin pick with a full size handle and i can interchange sizes when ever i want. i'm still trying to pretty it up right now.
