need help identifying lock

i assume its a tubular pin tumbler lock, with 7 pins, but am not absolutely sure. i was looking to pick it using the apocalypse spike method(aka spike the wonder) that was shown in a video from defcon 13, of a guy who used a paper mate flexgrip elite pen to open the tubular lock on a sentry fire safe with an electronic keypad and tubular lock. which is what i have.

but if i cant get the pen method to work i was thinking aobut maybe getting one of the 7-pin tubular lock picking tools.

Looks like a safe. Why dont you just key in the combo? You won't get advice on opening it here but if you search you will find info about tubular locks. The Pen bypass only works on a select few locks.

The tubular pick is more of a locksmith tool. Learn to pick normal pin tumblers first if your interested in picking.

It looks like it's a safe, and a small one at that. It would be far cheaper to take it to a locksmith than to buy a tubular pick for it.

the electronic combo doesnt open the key part. its 2 seperate locks. i know how to bypass the keypad because im more famaliar with electronical things rather than mechanical.

and i will be honest, this is my fathers safe, which is how i have access to it, its just that he took something from my room and placed it in the safe, thus i am trying to get it back since reasoning with him goes nowhere.

If you break into his safe then you properly wont have a house to live in. not a good idea really. He will have his reasons, and its tough being a kid sometimes!!

Trust me opening this is a bad idea, and we will not help you open locks that are not your own. Sorry. Thanks for being honest though.

Usually safes like that the keypad opens the safe and the lock it a backup incase the batts go flat etc. Interesting that you say you need both to open the safe.

i see what you are saying. but truly for me to take whats in the safe is actually fair. i wont explain in too much detail, but its something i use for something that isnt "ok". but he does the same thing that isnt "ok". so basically its just him being a dick.

anyways, even if he did find out i got into his safe he wouldnt do anything about it, except for maybe change the code cuz he figured i found out the combo.
