ok so check this out....coonah's idea about digits one and two having the same tens place was right....partly. on ONE of my 7 locks, this is true. but it appears to be one of the older locks, and it has only done it once, however i think that it is more than coincidence that that works.

seriously, i got the combo for that one padlock in about 2 minutes. why? because using his theory, i narrowed down the possible combos to about 20. yes, 20! and so that went by VERY fast. so coonah, you will be recieving some credit in my enventual master combo lock guide.

congrats, im still working out WHY that worked, and a number of other ideas, and right now, there are 4 locks in full cutaway view and 4 that arent.

cheers...

^ that guy's right. Contact points are irrelevant because the fence isn't ramped. It's flat. If you can find an accurate method of measuring shackle pull graphing might still be an option, but all of my attempts at that have failed.

/me wonders how many people are sick of me saying that.

I think any patterns you are finding relating to the combination are better attributed to the small combination space than anything else. Reminds me of the schitzo mathmatician finding codes in newspapers.

well, I don't know about getting the combo but if you want to pick master locks then: just break off the wavy end of a hair pin and file the other end down(so it is nice and skinny). stick the skinny part into the lock on the LEFT side, closest to the middle as you can(going parralell to the "U" shaped mechanism) and give it alittle wigle and the lock should open because you are trying to seperate that little wedge from the little dent in the "U" shaped piece.

That was a mouth full If you don't understand E-mail me at

Just something else i noticed in order to eleminate the number of combos you have to try: out of thethree numbers in a lock, the last digit of two of them is the same. Prove me wrong please.

my school locker has 3 diff last #'s

Safe locks and Master padlocks are two completely different animals. what works on an S&G 3 wheel safe combination lock will not work of a master padlock.

True. So many people try to correlate or somehow apply safe lock manipulation to Master locks, it doesn't work, the mechanisms are too different.

Shim 'em, period. If you need to retrieve the combo, shim 'em and scope 'em, that is stick an otoscope in the hole (you can just eyeball it but an otoscope or opthalmoscope makes it easier) and visually decode the combo. That's the practical way to handle them; now, if you're messing with manipulating these just for fun, that's fine, but don't think any locksmith in their right mind is going try anything like that, they're just going to whip out the shims and be done with it.

Actually, some might not even bother with shims, they'll just whip out the BOLTCUTTERS and be done with it!
