A Brinks Lock

Postby Dalindeck » 12 Sep 2006 21:13

Hey all, this is my first post here, but I need help. I have a Brinks lock outside that I forgot the combination to. I was wandering if anyone could help me out about how I can go about getting the combination, or explain to me if a sham works in it, or how to sham, I have tried, but I have had no luck. Erm, shim, haha. Anyways, thanks in advance! Oh and, in lockpicking, do I have to buy a professional set, or can I just use a small screwdriver, and a hairpin thing? Thanks.

Can you show us a picture of the actual lock please?

You need a set of lockpicks to learn but a 'pro' set isnt nessacary, look at the 9 or 14 piece set by South Ord, click on the shop button above

Is it actually locking anything right now or is it on an open gate?

You see we have to be careful who asks what on here when they first come, we get a lot of people wantign to break into lockers etc with these sorts of locks,

If you look for a thread called shimmign a tricircle padlock you should find my video of shimming but i am unsure if that actual lock does shim or not,

If you press the shackle down is it springy? does it move down a bit and spring back?

If so it should be shimmable,

Umm, its my own lock. It's on a gate that doesn't close anything (we took the part of the fence it closes to down when we got rid of the sheep), it is just on a latch, and it is un the bottom part of the latch so it don't allow the latch to go up. I need to lock my garage, and I was wandering of a way to get this lock so I don't have to buy a new one hehe. Umm, when I pull up on the U bar thing, it pulls up, away from the combination part, and when I let go, it goes back down. I put in what I thought the combination was (crappy memory), and it opened further than usual, but I am not sure what that means.

I can't see anything with my phone at night, sorry guys :( I promise I am not trying to break into anything, I just want my lock off my old sheep gate to put on my garage door. I am in highschool, but our lockers use different locks than these, they are 60 combination, and they dont have a U bar thingy, its just a black lever we pull up after entering the combination. They made it so you can't shim/lockpick the lockers for student privacy. Hope this clears anything up. I am not trying to steal anything, or break into anything. Thanks.
