When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

IF YOU NOTE IT IS A STICKY IN THE FAQ & GENERAL INFO. SECTION

kid you are getting under my skin you are impaitent and demanding.

Cut it out... it is not nessicary that every time you are;
too lazy to use the search function
having a random thought
picking you nose
THat you post a new thread... nobody cares and people, like myself, begin to lose our cool and then somebody new asks an innocent question it never gets answered cause they are too pissed and bored with mundane, barely functioning individuals asking, demanding or telling us the most ridicous things their pea-sized brain can come up with.

so the next time you're about to ask a question, or feel like following up on a post with something "anyone.....?" in a less than 15minuite period or that something you thought was amazing just happened then do the following SEARCH, JUST DON'T DO IT, and KEEP IT TO YOURSELF, respectivly.

I'm going to back UWSDWF up on this one.

I can empathize with his response, and his desire to respond to your thread, whether because of, or in spite of, his frustration with you.

you have a tube pick

Postby raimundo » 14 Sep 2006 8:57

Lets say you have a tubular pick and a tubular lock and key to practice on, its good to have the key when learning because you can compare the pick to the key to see if you have a sticky slider that won't move or a loose one that easily pushes too far. both of these conditions have remedies and using tubular picks often requires a little tweaking. the rubber will sometimes stick to the metal if its been in storage too long, or it will lose its tension and you may need to go to the plumbing section of the hardware store for more o rings.
1 push all the sliders out, then press the tool on a flat surface to set all the sliders at 0
2 put the pick in the keyhole til it stops, put a small turning (clockwise) tension on it and press it under tension to the bottom of the keyway, release the tension and allow the springs to push the pick back out as far as they will,
3 reapply tension and push to the bottom of the keyway again,
4 for a beginner, this would be a good time to take the pick out of the keyway and examine it and compare it to the key.

5 repeat steps 2 and 3 until it turns or until you decide to repeat step 4 agin.
