I have just registered with this forum tonight, a little earlier i posted my 1st post lettin you all know that the typical Mortice lock "as we call em" has baffled me for a while now.

This post is just what i was looking for illusion "TOP JOB" on both the superb pics and well explained instructions, "so reach round to your back and give it a pat illusion", a well deserved one!

Even a newbie like myself understood it!!!!

Hopefully sometime soon i will be able to say i picked my 1st one of this type, we have tons at work so i am not short of a few guinea pigs...

Thanx again m8

Well I see no problem with it... Although to be fair I am somewhat touched that somebody found my guide so useful. :)

Read the stickied guides Shrub wrote - they explain British Standard mortice locks, and even explain how to pick them.

Get yourself a Union 3 lever mortice lock and some bike spokes. Spend about 20 mins bending a few picks to shape, and give it a go. The cost is fairly low, and mortice locks feel so nice when you open them.

Once again, thanks for the kind words.

Just don't get as suckered in as I did... you'll end up with 4K posts haha.

Although if you really sell your soul to this forum, you may break 7K posts like Shrub! :P

Glad you like the forum. :)
