Well for starters, what kind of lock is it and what tools do you have?
If it's a padlock and you're going to be cutting, whatever you cut with needs the be harder than the metal of the lock and that pretty much means having the right tool for the job. Otherwise you'll probably only need a screwdriver and maybe something to get a snap ring off.

The distilled wrath of hatred I could bring forward at the moment would be foolish on my part, at the moment I will bite my tongue, not because you so rudely told me to asked me too but out of respect for the Mod/Admin team on this site.

You need to grow up very badly; I cannot help you with this.

The question you asked is so vague that no person can truly help you, and really we can only help those who can help themselves.

Reading most of your posts truly deeply pains me, not just due to the monosyllabic sentences or the imbecilic way you pander this forum but, the way you hurt you own thirst for knowledge by never asking a full question or making bizarre statements.

Will a hacksaw work on a no5 master lock? That depends... what on it are you trying to cut, what is the ultimate goal of this project, what type of saw blade are you using?

The fact that you started this thread by saying, 'you know the info is there but you don't want and request that this thread not be locked', reveals ignorance in the statement itself and a negative connotation. Your title alone will not attract some of the persons most skilled in padlock disassembly, as it does not correlate.

You can dislike me all you want but if you look back at any of your post where a real question could be found in it my reply although harsh have substance and generally answer the route question.

So to finish this I, like many others on this site are will to help, if you are willing to help yourself.

Answer these questions and maybe some one can help you.

What on it are you trying to cut?
What is the ultimate goal of this project?
What tools do you have at your disposal?

Cheers

When you start posting a bit better we wont have to do this to every one of your threads, endless polls, lack of searching, lack of respect to valued members, lack of substance and lack of at least half decent grammer and spelling are only the start of it,
Oh and dont try to tell the mods or admin what to or not to do

You need tools to do things, if you dont have said tools or skills then you look around ebay for cut aways they do come up from time to time,

Either that or start useing your mums nail files :P
