I recently had cause to use one of these that had been purchased by a local hotel. I would highly advise saving up as quickly as possible for a better quality machine if you intend on using it for business.

Look for a key cutter that has 4-way jaws to be better able to hold a variety of key types.
*insert witty comment here*

I own the HPC Mini Speedex, as well as the foley 200 that came with my course. I think the Mini Speedex is built a lot better than the FB200 and it will consistentily cut keys with .001.
I would want a more powerful machine, at least the next model up with the larger motor if I were cutting a lot of keys. My Mini Speedex does have the 4 way jaws on it.
I use the Mini Speedex for my duplicating and the FB200 for an ocassional code key. (I have the digital micrometers on mine)
My machines get light use, at the present time this is a hobby more than anything else. (friends and family)
In NC you have to pass a state certification test and be licensed by the state before you can do locksmithing as a business.
