American Lock series 30

Postby Lucky1406 » 21 Sep 2006 18:02

My grandparents gave me an older American Lock series 30, and I cant seem to get it. Gonna have a friend look at it and see what he thinks. Its rather old, but not in bad shape. I just cant seem to be able to open it, I can open most padlocks that I come across, but this one is bugging me. I'll prolly give it a few more tries, then maybe i'll clean it and see if that helps. I'd post a pic, but my camera acting funny right now. Does anyone know if there are any security pins inside, I've felt for them, but dont feel any. Let me know if anyone has any ideas. And yes Shrub, I searched for this, and I couldn't find any info on it. ;)

odds are if its american.. atleast any one ifve seen has botton serrated's and top serreated spools.

I dont knwo if american makes laminated padlocks.. like a master but better. But i would fully back myself by saying if its an american it probobly has a spring loaded plug or security pins or both.

The tollerences are better so feeling is more difficult.

Honestly.. jsut sit with it for like a half hour to an hour and just go to work. Odds are at some point oyu will get a small false set.. jsut gotta study the bugger.. if oyu can find a link to a site that has the exact lock.. you might get more help as well.
