To be honest they take me 2 hours per pick.
Each was designed for specific key ways, you'll notice the elbow or bow on one tang.
This is used for placing a thumb.. or insert finger if you need much more feel, the tang was enlongated for this reason.
They're not modeled after falles persay.. i love his tang designs, whether or not he did his design for my reason.. or same resaon.
THere there to create more flex so you don;t over do it, also siply less tang at a better shape.. you have less material. and better feel.
As for the heat shink and such.. yes there homebrew.. but i'm not rich so its works
Okay making them, first choose a good material, i noticed you can go a bit thicker if you follow rays advise of rounded your tang and sanding.
So tools are benchgrinder (mostly for handels and finger grips if you desire)
Dremel for fine tuning, you will also find that putting multiple emory whels on say have try bits, one has a single wheel allt he way till three.
An arm attachment is a must, use a brass mire wheel attachment for pre hand filing deburing, this will remove all burs.. actually make it usable, considering the thickness was a little higher I hald filed as well.
I have this technique using a carbide bit at a very low speed (say 3-5) on a normal dremel.. speeds depends on how steady your hands are.
THis will roughly round the edges.
Next use needel files (fine files) for fine tune you tans and tips as needed (you can spray silicon or wd40 lude for a better Presanding filing finish.
Next is simple. Take your emory paper and start at about medium course.. and work till 1200.
After this has been done, finish with 1200 grit but now spray silicon lube on it and there you go mirror finish.
You'll have to fine tune your methods and from the Pictures you can see there scrated from testing and using.
Just a keep run with a 1200 git w/ silicon will give the finish again.
The handles are.. well i explained that in another thread.. do a little search fu.
If you have any qeustions, post or PM.
They take a while.. but honestly everyone i have there is not a keyway i cannot get them into as far as pin tumbler
If you need any more pics of them up close i would be happy to post, or the roto bits used, can do that to jsut ask.
Thanks ray<-- i always say that not to kiss asss but he gave me some pointers.. so.. Thanks ray I appreciate the pointers a while back
Andy
