Hello, new here, I´ve been opening cars for ten years now. We own a towing company here in Finland. Learning the Little Joe II kit, hooked to picking at once. A bit disappointed about the automotive section been access denied but also understand it...

Fix that sig, it should only be 80 pixels high I believe. Its WAY too big.
Nice to have you here.

Hello all.
I'm Dan. I grew up in a junkyard and have been tinkering with mecahnical things all my life. It's probably the thing that comes most naturally. I started picking locks and found that its a great way to pacify my insatiable thirst for tinkering. I figure there's gotta be innumerable numbers of locks and variations on design and function and therefore a hobby that might last a lifetime. I tend to wear out hobbies after a few months or a few years.
I look forward to learning and of course, tinkering.

Hello all. I've just started picking (again). I began with the MIT guide about 6 years ago, but just got back to it recently. I worked my way from 1 to 5 pins on a cheapo deadbolt and now can usually open it within 30 secs in every pin config I've tried. Now onto to some tougher things...
I got my SouthOrd MPXS-14 set the other day, which so far I like, though they seem a bit wider than I'd expect. So, I also made a small hook outta a hacksaw blade. It's pretty thin and delicate, but I can feel the pins real well with it. I also made a tension wrench outta a small piece of tool steel. It's way too beefy and not springy at all, but the business end is tapered and fits well into various keyways that I've tried.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning from you all and contributing where I can.

Seems to be a great and vibrant forum here. Started playing with locks when my grandfather gave me a deadbolt and a couple basic tools for my 10th b-day (what can I say, I love puzzles!)
Looking forward to seeing you all around.

Hey, how are you all doing? I'm new here. I have so many old locks sitting around at home, so I want to put them to good use, and learn to pick locks.

Welcome everyone,
Seed check out the rules buddy, bad language isnt appropreate on these forums and neither is the idea of a) picking locks that dont belong to you and b) picking locks that are in use,
Every one click the picture in my post to take you to a guided tour of the important stuff you need to learn to get into this sport/hobby and have fun
