Lockpicking 101 donation?

Postby oaksy » 2 Oct 2006 12:19

Hello guys..Its been along time.

I have a Question for you.

I see that people can be a Supporter of 101 and have a free T shirt plus other stuff etc etc.

Have you thought about putting a donation box on the site that people can donate money through PayPal????To 101 for the up keep of the site and with some of the money made you can run a competition for the member here that can win a prize??

I for one would donate some money, plus i think alot more people would too...Because you all have help me so much, plus 100s more out there and it would be nice to give something back...

How my Shurb

This has already been talked about in another thread
viewtopic.php?t=14872&highlight=donation

My opinion: It is a good  , but I don´t have money at the moment, I like the competition thing though, but could I "play" without paying, using other people´s money :?:

:D

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

While a lot of us are happy enough to be supporters there are others who just need a small goodie to justify their donation.

One idea is to have official LP101 ID cards same as some of the locksport groups in Europe. The ID card can have a unique serial no + picture + signature + laminated to make it official looking. I've read/heard somewhere that they have been used in Germany by individuals to explain why they were carrying "burglary equipment".

I'm sure that $20 wouldn't be too much to ask for an ID card. If necessary, these cards could also be restricted to members with x no of posts or y time on the site to ensure bona fides.

ID cards have been brought up in the past, they will never be made and we will not have an official 101 ID card,

Oaksy maybe you need to change your location as your nowhere near me  8)

I just think it would be good if there was a paypal Donation box on the site, as people if they want to donate money to 101 like small amounts starting from $3.00 then $5.00 up to what ever they want to Donate...

What gets me is if you went out and got yourself a Lockpicking book it would cost you more than $3.00 and it wouldnt have anywhere near as much info as this site as...

This site as gave 1000s of people info on lockpicking and still does, like i have said before it would be nice to give something back.
