How would you destroy something when trying to make a pick?
I mean, obviously, if you're making it out of a hacksaw blade, you're going to destroy the hacksaw blade.
I'm not too sure what you're asking. If it's just "how do I make a lockpick," that question's been answered in text and pictures and videos all over these forums. Search around.

Jigsaw blades would work if you made some kind of handle for them, as they are generally too small to be held comfortably.

Jigsaw blades may be too wide/thick. Stick to cleap carbon steel hacksaw blades.

If you have use of a dremmel(rotory) tool then you will break some cutting/grinding wheels, but they're cheap to replace. If you're using a table grinder then no you wouldn't break it.
I use hacksaw blades myself and find the work really well.

Read all of the first post it tells you when you can get the vid. , it shows you how to make picks.

If you use a dremel tool cutter make [i]SURE[\i] you wear
eye protection no matter how dorky it looks.
I got a piece of a dremel cutter in my nose. Not fun.

Good advice, I would sudjest a cheap mask as well, you can get them from any hardware store. Breathing metel dust isn't good for you i'm sure, it will also further protect you from stuff flying at you. Both the goggles and mask have protected me from flying dremmel bits.

Most of us here are hobbiests, so even buying anything from HPC is difficult. Many of us would rather make our own tools anyway.
