Schuyler,
You are going to have problems with those picks if you made them from bi-metal blades.
Bi-metal blades have an amazingly hard cutting edge, and a softer spine. This means once you are rid of the teeth, you are rid of the best steel.
They are made that way so they last for cutting and so they will be flexible.
It will ruin you pick, but take which ever pick you are the least happiest with, and bend it. It will bend easily, and stay bent.
If you use regular carbon steel or high speed steel hacksaw blades, they won't fold. They flex to a certain point before they break.
So far I like the grinder work, and I will love to see them when they are done.

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

Gah! That's what I made my first set of picks out of.. I've noticed they bend easily, but I still have about 7 of them left and I dont wanna put them to waste.. aside from that, they've gotten the job done for the most part. I dont have all that many locks to mess with at present. Only a Masterlock No.3 Padlock (easy stuff), an Abus No.55/40 (which I could only get once so far because I need smaller tension tools), a toolbox lock (no brand name), and some cabinets at my parent's work.
