Whats wrong with my Kwikset Bump key?!!?

Just recieved my order of bump keys from ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/8-DEPTH-KEY-KEYS-FO ... dZViewItem )

Low quality blurry pictures taken from my cell phone =/

This is the key I got in the package:


This is the copies I made from it, bottem one is copy unmodified, top one is cut little bit off the tip and little bit off the shoulder. Anyone wrong with either one?


I tried on 2 locks, one deadbolt and one is just a doorknob lock that I bought for practice, I been working on this for some time not sure what is wrong I use a hammer rubber part (handle of it) to strike it and still nothing.

Modified it a little more, cut little off tip and modified the shoulder and still doesnt work?



Can anyone post a quality picture of thier WORKING Kwikset bump key, please?

beyond the fact that they appear to be 2'^2 my guess would be that they aren't bump keys ... they are a shell of a key in a former life grounded down to nothing

what can those bump? not much

it says in his ebay auction that if a key is defective just e-mail him and he will re-send

Its a bump key, and not a pick. Plain and simple.

I'm with Unbreakable here.
I mean bumping is a useful technique for cetain things, but not really for hobby pickers.

It sort of defeats the purpose.

We are into picking because it develops and enhances our skill. Bumping doesn't do that.

I agree with bud on this, their fun to make and use but the noveltie wears off fast.
