are there UK franchises ? and are they worth the money ?

Hi all,
I remember some years ago un the UK there was a franchise called Open up's. I just wondered if there are any franchises and if they are considered worth the money ?

There are many franchise locksmiths operating in the UK.

I've never operated a franchise myself but have met many locksmiths that do and to be honest I cant remember any of them being very positive about it.
Maybe someone on here has or is operating one and can give an inside perspective on it.

Talking about franchises reminds me of a job I was called out to, to do a lock change, some years before the client had lost her keys and called a franchise locksmith who had drilled the deadlock open and fitted a repair plate with DYNO LOCKS on it in dirty great letters, as the client hated it I offered to replace it with a plain one FOC

I`ve seen plenty offered and all take a large chunk to outlay (as far as im aware). On the otherside of the coin if its slow to start the costs are obsorbed
partially by the franchise company (may be wrong on that so dont quote me). But generally Franchises do.
Personally i think theyre to expensive and if your going to do the ground work anyway you might aswell work for yourself.
I pass a lot of work on that is outside my area to other locksmiths and I hope they do the same.
