I doubt there exists such a flaw, I (amongst others) still maintain that he's using some form of bypass technique.

Who knows, I still think that he is not using a shim, but thats me. Until someone figures it out, or he tells me I guess we cant be sure. I would like to hear what Chucklz theory was (he thought he might know what it was) but he hasnt posted since earlier today.

I'm now intrigued, if you act nonchalantly towards him, he's more likely to want to share his findings with you. Historically, and from a psychological point, someone who wants to achieve any form of notoriety does not want their actions to go un-noticed. He's displaying to you, and you are building him up with your "Wow"'s, etc. "Snub" him, and he's more likely to want to reveal his method, to regain acceptance from you. Nobody likes to be ignored. If you can make some form of display which says "look at me", and if someone does, you'll feel a lot better about yourself whether or not it's something of importance.

Is it possible that he is using the bottom of the notch in the shackle to move the latch out of position?

I dont quite understand what you mean there funboy. I am trying to figure out if there is a pressure point that causes the notch in the shackle to miss the locking mechanism, but so far Ive been unsuccessful. Is this what you mean?

On the masterlock combination padlocks (and similar locks) that I have seen, the bottom of the latch is not flat. It is slanted so that when you dial in the combination you can pull the shackle out. With enough pressure pulling on the shackle and rotating the shackle back and forth in the lock it may be possible to work the latch out of position thus opening the lock.

In thoery this idea has the possibility of working. In practice, however, I don't know. I am mostly thinking outloud to myself here.

It would take quite a bit of pressure.

I'll mess around with this idea and get back to you.

I have spent far too much time reading this thread. Obviously, we've all got better things to do. Our members have got very little information to go on to give you a reasonable explanation.

I think Red nailed this one on the head. I have stopped watching this post, because it is just a collection of whinning from denz about how his "mate" is so mean to him and doesnt tell him the big secret. Really, dont bring this onto here, go tell your mummy. We have been trying to help you with this pointless "problem," and it just doesnt seem to be going anywhere.

All you have been saying is "plz help me, i cant work out how my mate does this," "You guys dont understand" "you guys are all wrong" etc. etc. etc. etc. WE ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :evil:

the limited information that you have given basically is 'your friend can open combo locks quickly.' WE NEED MORE INFORMATION!!!!!!!! Really, look where we are coming from. I only have a certain amount of time to look at this site when I come home, and it drives me nuts when crappy posts like this where "the poster is suposed to be asking for help but is just shooting down others who are trying to help him," and the whole conversation is going absolutely nowhere is posted on this site. Plz plz plz plz plz.... stop wasting our time. The only way i can see this ending is if your "mate" tells you the secret, and when this happens, plz pm me with the details. Other than that, stop whinning.

Im so annoyed at you denz mainly because of this part of your post:

you say this as if you are helping us, which is not the case. If you would calm down, think how stupid this problem is and how there is no possible way we can solve this for you and start telling us some more details, you would understand my frustration.

You whine that Im wasting your time. Dont read the post then. Go read something else. Secondly you are reading old posts and acting as if they have been all Ive said. When I first presented the problem, everyone said shim shim and more shim. I did not think that to be the case so I asked for some other solution if anyone knew of one. Now it is obvious that no one does so myself and others have been throwing ideas around. Of course, yes, all I did was come on here and say my friend is so mean... o wait, I never said that. If you think that all I did was come on and whine, then fine, you're entitled to your opinion (which smells of stupidity) but dont get on and do your own whining, complaining of whining. Yes, I understand that this is a very difficult problem and that you guys need details. Well so do I. If I had all of the details I probably could have figured it out myself, or I at least would have posted them. Ive apologized numerous times for not being able to be more detailed. And why do you say "we" have been trying to help with the problem? You havent done anything. Youve posted on here like once and that was to say that maybe he had tampered with the locks, after I had clearly stated that he had not had access to them beforehand ( and you wonder why I seemed frustrated at ppl earlier). I was not trying to be a jerk, I was just frustrated. I can only wonder why you would come on here after a couple days of people throwing around theories and complain about me complaining. You say Im shooting down others? No, I did not try to but if someone came on here and gave me some theory that I thought to be completely wrong, am I supposed to just say "O your right, what was I thinking." NO. If a theory seems to be wrong, then I am going to say I dont think its right, not agree with it.

Oh, by the way. To everyone besides technik (useless), thanks for trying to help me figure this out. It was hella frustrating and I still dont get it so Ill just have to feign disinterest until he tells me. If he does tell me, you guys will be the first to know :wink:
