Oh, and it is made by extending the cuts on the key, and then sliding the small allen keys allong these grooves. This would allow you to SPP the lock, and keep the sliders in position nce the lock has been picked - thus meaning you don't have to re-pick the lock several times.
I might try this idea soon - it seems very sound. The one thing I need to look into is the correct material to use to create tension on the feelers... Perhaps a zip-tie would serve well enough as an o-ring?

A very simular video was posted on here a few days ago,
In my opinion the key in that video hadnt been modified and still used the right cuts for the lock thus faking it but it is possable of course,
That one used rubber bands as the feeler pick tensioner,
Illusion, maybe some springs of levers would work for you

Aye, you're right Shrub - lever springs would be great. I seem to remember 'NDE Freak' suggesting using Chubb lever springs in an old thread - never got roud to trying though...Clever Aussies.
I watched the video on that thead, and personaly think it;s fake. HOWEVER, I do think if you were to extend the cuts on the key it would work.
Well aside from the o-ring, I know exactly how such a tool would work... This might be my new project since somebody was so kind as to send me a load of tub locks.

Ah yes thanks for that i knew someone had suggested the lever springs but couldnt remember who or which forum lol
I also think the tool would work but the one in that video looks dodgy to say the least,
Martinnn, is that the same video you saw that was on that other thread i linked to? if not could you sort us out a link for the one you saw?

Illusion, you might find that lever spring might be to thin, if they are, try using some long ladies hair clips (bobby pins for the US guys) , same material but thicker.
there's no such thing as gravity. The earth SUCKS!!

Cut the bottom off of a small balloon. Just the bit you blow into. Works better than a normal rubber band in my not-at-all-extensive-testing.
I just happened to have one sitting here. Give it a go, anyhow. Maybe with two of them it'll work like gangbusters.

How difficult and how long would it be to pick it several times with a half hook or a diamond pick?

Thanks guys!
I need an afternoon free, but life is pretty hectic right now, and most of my time is being devoted to finding a job...
When I get a few hours to sit down I'll make it, promise.

That depends on a few factors.
The quality of the lock, your skill with the pick, and how many times that crappy tension tool slips out and makes you start over.
Not to mention the fact that to relock a tubular you basically have to pick it in reverse.
Of course you can do it, its just not worth the time if you do them often, of have more than one to do at a time.
