You will find any good lockie takes product catalogues to the jobs with them, its the best way to id stuff like multi strips etc,

And that's what i think happened. I was showing the mean old scrote a pic of a Chubb 3k70 or something and must have left it behind.

Mind you, i once did a job changing door handles for a woman and swore blind for months that I had left my super-douper screwdriver at hers and that she never bothered to tell me, and i even bought a costly replacement......only to find it six months later in the bottom of my box containing upvc door handles.

Ive got one of these locks on my van at the moment along with a few other originals from a victorian terrace. Im making the owner some new keys for them. It should be easy to make a new spring for.What i find interesting is that the case is only held together with one screw considering how big it is.

I never take product info out of the shop. If I need to compare it, I take pictures, measurements etc, but the resources stay in the library. Too much chance of losing them. A few manufacturers don't mind supplying new material, but I have to pay for all my wholesalers catalouges...

In the uk the catalogues are free and brought out each year, most of us hang on to the old one or get 2 new ones so we can have one in the van and one in the shop/at home, or at least those that i regulary talk to do, i have 2 or 3 of each catalogue and it makes thing easier,

It must be a real bummer to be asked to pay for their catalogues, It seems wrong to me,

Cant say ive ever paid for a catalogue. Is Duffells new one out yet as they seem to have been putting it together for years?

Duffell's catalogue should be out in the next few weeks - I was speaking to them earlier today, and asked the same question.

And the mystery is solved... I'm in London Ontario, Canada... about half way between Toronto and Detroit.

our distributors here (within reason of London anyways) tend to be a bunch of tight sods... technically it's a 'deposit' we pay for this 75lb monstrosity they call a product guide... We do get manufacturers flyers updated anually for free... but again, never bother to carry them with me. takes up too much space in my truck.

don't suppose anyone would be willing to part with a catalouge (an old one obviously), I love seeing differences between hardware used here and elsewhere.
