HPC Spring Loaded Tension Tool

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

HPC Spring Loaded Tension Tool

Postby unbreakable » 12 Oct 2006 22:07

I was just offered a HPC spring loaded tension tool for $20.

It's this one- http://www.lockpicks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=60
Off of HPC's site, it's TNT 2- http://www.hpcworld.com/Picks/p_tnt.htm

It's expensive enough, it ought to be good.

Now, my question is this. Has anyone on here ever used one of these? Are they worth it?

It just seems like a really good deal, might make picking my mounted practice locks easier.

Thanks

Who the devil offered you that?

Never mind, forget I asked.

Buy it, and if you don't want it or don't like it I'll take it off your hands.

A lot dont like them, i think Varjeal tested a few of them and said theres only one that was much good but without searching i cant remember which one,

The common problem was with the pins bending i think,

Shrub has it right pretty much. Although they can be pretty useful for certain things.

I'd buy it regardless if every one hated it, but then again I'm a gadget junkie :)

I've never been into lock picking gadgets. For me they take the fun out of it. I've always liked the idea of taking strips of metal and refining them to manipulate locks. Gadgets in my mind are for the full time locksmiths.
