SIR, YES SIR after careful examination and the obvious non suspicious question I have come to the conclusion that since this is an emergency situation, hence needing the answer quick, that the best solution will be as follows...

Get a solid metal bar that car slip through the gap in the shackle. Turn hard clockwise. If you are strong enough, the lock will just fall apart, if not it won't.
I did this not long ago myselfg and it took about 5 seconds - can't suggest a faster technique than that I'm afraid.

lol...nice idea...
how about a technique that leaves the lock still intact and so the person does not realise the lock has been opened?

well sounds to me that we have a criminal on our hands... and we will not help criminals
the fact that you'd come here and ask us to help you commit a crime is sad.... any further requests for information should be directed to your local police station maybe they can help you find what you deserve.

Asking here is a nononono......(nononono)........no.
Is this enough no's, or do you need more.
There's plenty more where these came from.

Go ask eslewhere, your question breaks every fundemental ethical rule in the book,
Whats wrong with simply asking the caretaker or teacher to open it up and retrieve your 'dropped item'?
Locked.
