Need to make key to use lockers

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Need to make key to use lockers

Postby JonWilson07 » 16 Oct 2006 13:55

I recently got several school/gym lockers from the junkyard. They all have combination locks with a little master key slot on the combination dial itself. The guy at the junkyard did not have any of the combos. How do I make a master key to fit all the lockers so I can use them? :?:

well i'd worry about getting the block key first then i'd contact the manufacturer with the serial on the back to get the key...

I think you may need to tell us a little more and some pictures before much more detail comes out as i get the feeling that you maybe a school kid and want ill gains

Need to make key to use lockers

Postby JonWilson07 » 16 Oct 2006 14:33

I am new to all of this so I do not know what a block key is? I can appreciate your concern about my age and intentions. Unfortunately, I haven't been a school kid for about 40 years now. I just want to recondition these lockers and be able to use them in my home gym. If I can contact the manufacturer and they can provide a master key that would be great. If I provide my identification and sales receipt to the lock company will they send me a master key?

Put a photo of all the junk lockers up. Why would you want a load of old lockers, and would old lockers be dumped with them still locked?? .

We regularly get school kids trying to lie their way into getting info on breaking into their mates lockers. So we dont give this info out easily.

A search may help you tho.

Why dont you just cut them off and replace them for locks which you know the combo?

If you needed lockers and you gave everyone an override key it wouldnt be very secure.

I know the typ of lockers you are talking about

a block key opens the entire front its key hole is usually found in the middle of the opening side again the manufacturer in this case most likely masterlock i'm sure can provide combos and the centre key with proof of ownership of course

Need to make key to use lockers

Postby JonWilson07 » 16 Oct 2006 16:01

I would rather not have to memorize 4 different combinations so I hope they will send me a master key. Thanks for the info 8)

Replace them for 4 keyed alike padlocks. No point using a combo lock if you dont want to remember the combinations! Loads on Ebay

it is not a padlock the guy is talking about a block of lockers with the combo locks built in. the padlocks are useless on this style of locker

he has these http://work-space-solutions.com/personal_effects.htm with the combo lock built in option

Ps. I don´t believe it!
Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

Once opened...you can easily change the combination with the touch of a button. Then set your own combinations.
