When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Try checking out the lockpickshop linked to the shop tag at the top right hand corner of this page.

We don't know what you can afford, so the best bet is to shop around for a small or medium set to get you started. As long as it has a few different hooks, a half diamond and some tension wrenches you are on the right track.

Happy pickings :)

Your welcome, I forgot my manners though, welcome to the site.

You can also try making your own tools. There are so many pictures and templates here that you can make just about any pick on the market, all you need is a grinder and/or a dremel, some hacksaw blades and/or windshield wiper inserts to make the picks from.

Search around in the forums here and you will also find beginner excercises and lists of easy locks to pick. The most important rule of thumb is to purchase some locks from a dollar or hardware store and Don't pick locks you rely on or locks you do not own

Good luck and enjoy the site. :)
