I have this little cole key here and it kinda wierd can someone draw an overlay on it to where I should file it to make a bump key out of it?

the red is where I think I should file it... is this right? this is a very small key..

thanks I read that, but you see how this particular key is confusing me?
look at it closely, how many pins are in the lock?
It looks like 2 or 3 to me.

That key fits a wafer lock of some sort as most small keys. Because it is a wafer lock, I wouldn't recommend bumping it unless you are doing it 3 times or less.
If all fails, use nitroglycerine.

I can't believe I just heard some somebody suggest bumping a wafer lock!

1. That is a pin tumbler lock
2. That type of lock/key that is commonly used on mail boxes , althought it is common enough on filing cabinetts.
3. I think this thread should be locked.

If its a mail box key you need to file it like unbreackable says and if its not then foillow the guides elsewhere,

SOrry man, MS paint blows.....
But it is semi accuratley drawn, and atleast my descriprion is right, Shrub backed me up on that one.
SHould work well, I hear mailbox locks are especially easy.
