Hello all, i am a 14 year old hobbist from santa clara, california. I've looked over your site and I think i found a new hobby. Before I started looking into the "art" of lock picking I carved wood and painted litte models (not very good hobbies eh).

I wanted to look into lock picking because I walk home from school. Its a 2 mile walk and I forget my keys sometimes. My mother doesn't get home till around five. Can you imagine sitting on the stairs next to your apartment waiting for two hours?

You're probably mostly adults, and I hope you can pass down some of your "ancient wisdom" down ( im just playing ). Anyways, I hope to learn a great deal of lock picking

I'm completely new to lockpicking and registered yesterday.
I have been lurking for a while to get the feel of it before joining and will be reading more past posts and practicing before making any meaningful posts.

Got interested in lock-picking when I realized what a puzzle it is, and I love solving puzzles. As a complete newbie I will no doubt have a fair amount of questions, so TIA.

Hello all. I'm an aspiring locksmith from Minnesota. I'm currently enrolled in the PCDI locksmithing course. My goal is to be a locksmithing information sponge. I know virtually nothing about being a "real" locksmith. I have tons to learn. I joined this forum because there's some excellent knowlege to be gained here! I have a long road in front of me though!

My main concern however is will I be able to make a profitable career out of this. I live in a city of 12,000 people with a county size of around 50,000. I have a kid on the way, and moving in with my gf (hopefully to be wife) soon, and I can't fail!

I don't expect to be filthy rich. I have a number in my head that I want to reach. If anyone could pipe in with a general estimation of yearly income, that'd be really appreciated. I know it's a touchy subject.

Anywho..Hello all!! I've read quite a bit already since I've been here on the things that interest me. This is my first post however. Hello to all!

Hello all

My name is Matthew i am 24 and from Staffordshire England. I do a lot of magic tricks and stumbled accross a lock picking book and it took off from there really.

I have picked two locks so far with a paper clip and a home made tention rench. I have just sent for my first lot of picks from www.devonlocks.co.uk. I have ordered 74 PIECE SLIMLINE LOCK PICK SET WITH WARDED PICKS & 7 AND 8 PIN ADJUSTABLE TUBULAR MANIPULATION PICKS & E100HO ELECTRIC PICK (4.5 VOLT). I guess its a big jump into picking but i have some uses for them with my job etc... I also have a video and a cd-rom that i have been learning from. I am currently downloading the mpgs off this site and from what i have seen so far they look very good. I give credit to all those that have made them for people of this forum. Well done.

Anyway i look forward to joining in on various topics.

By trade I am an electronic security engineer dealing with alarms, cameras, high security bank panels, biometrics and access control systems.
