Bump Keys

Postby ernesto_15_2000 » 19 Oct 2006 18:43

Hi there,

I'm new to lock picking. Although I'm practicing, and getting pretty good at it, I'm new to bump keys and how they work. Can anyone explain the use of such keys?

they are used to open the lock to which the user does not have or does not want to use the key intended for the lock

plenty of info out there on bump keying, check out the toool site. by the way, i just realized...buy a good bump key set online, cheap...some sites offer doubles for commonly used keys cuz they wear out over time... dont buy them!! get single keys, then take your set to wal-mart or a hardware store...theyll copy your bump keys for you, WAY cheaper than buying the bump keys. (97 cents apiece at my wal-mart) take them home and file your tips and shoulders. keep a set stowed away if you break/lose/wear out your active set. re-copy as necessary. it's like a bump-key subscription!
