Security systems...What happens to those?

When you pick your way through a door, what happens if the house has a security system? Does it go off? (I feel I should say that this is, of course, a rhetorical question).

Of course it will go off, what type of a questions is that?!?

We are hobby pickers, thus none of us know anything about alarm bypassing or burglary, nor will we help you on the subject.

Rhetorical questions of this nature are better not posted at all.

DO NOT PICK LOCKS THAT ARE NOT YOURS!!

DO NOT BREAK AND ENTER!!

You have approximately 30 seconds +/- to enter your security code before the alarm goes off. There are bypass methods but of course each system is diiferent and not a public topic.

Wait, I read your question and it's not really clear. If your asking will simply opening the door set off the alarm that would depend on if the door had a contact on it. You can have contacts placed on each door and window. This can get expensive. Most ordinary people on a budget either do not use door and window contacts or just the main door. Most economic systems rely on motion detectors or floor detectors. Other means can also be used. When movement (some times even sound) is detected, then there is the time lapse I spoke of so the owner has the opportunity to walk in his home and disarm the system or cancel a false alarm. Control boxes are usually right by the door and another box centrally located or in the bedroom and the actual time varies and can be programmed to be a little more or a little less. Some applications require manditory longer delays too. It gets complicated.

But most states have regulations that require a minimum amount of delay, this delay can be up to 2 to 4 minutes! Depending on state, and application. I believe California has the strictest regulations for this!

Clearer?

I see no valid point to this topic that relates to the hobby of lock picking. As a note to the OP, you got your answer, but I can't imagine why you'd have to ask the question. When you use a key to open the door, does the alarm go off?
