Are these useful for pick making?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I see street cleaners all the time, never seen a bristle, and I even live near where they park for the night. :(

Postby selim » 8 Nov 2006 21:22

I've read on this forum that you can make picks from windshield wiper blades.Since winter is rolling in on me I figurde i'd get some winter blades and try to make a pick or two. When I got my old bldes to my shop, and took them apart they were all plastic, everywhere plastic! Does anyone know what kind of steel is in the wiper blades?

I have a box of the 24 tpi, I just read the thickness with a micrometer, they are .023, or 23 thousands of an inch.
