i got the idea for a pick gun directly from pick_maker's topic on his new home-brew picks. i tried making one and it turned out really wel. i can't take any credit for the pick, but i can tell you how to make it.
1. find a wire hangar (he reccomends coat hangers, but i like regular ones)
2. bend the hangar straight
3. bend a notch (___/\___) about 2 inches from one end of the hangar
4. bend a loop about 1.5 inches to 2 inches from the notch on the other side (i used a AA battery for loop size)
5. bend the loop so that the excess wire is hanging out parallel to the other part of the pick, with atleast 1 full loop before it.
6. bend the extra wire up about 90 degrees and bend around the part of the pick just before the notch. the pick should be neutral (not needed to be held in place) with the bend you just made touching or about 1 mm above the other part of the pick.
7. bend the rest of the wire to make a comfortable handle for yourself.
8. use a hammer to flatten out the area of wire that is in front of the notch. sand and straighten that part
to use the pick: hold the pick in one hand and hold a tension wrench in the other. put both into the lock and use your thumb to pull the notch don a little bit. release the notch and when the pick strikes the pins on the lock, put pressure on the tension wrench. if done correctly, the lock should open.
