Dial Combination Locks

Postby Mrwaterbuffalo » 25 Oct 2006 19:16

How do you "pick" these locks? I've been trying everything. I've even tried the method you use on regular combination locks, but nothing works. Can someone please help me?

Do you mean a padlock or safe lock?

There are guides on here you just need to look out for them, try master combo locks for a start,

If its a safe lock then they arent discussed on the public forum,

Is it your lock and is it in use?

The lock itself is an Eagle Creek TSA 003 lock. It has three dials, and a small key hole that is impossible to pick with normal sized lockpicks.

3 dials? do you mean its a normal combo padlock or bike lock and doesnt have one big dial on the front?

All the usual ways should work on it, seasame decoding, pulling on the shakle etc,

3 dials doesnt take long to brute force it either,

I admit i dont know the lock, do you have a pic?

how small is small for the keyhole. i've picked locks with small keyholes like gun locks ( http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml00/00149A.jpg ) and the only difference is that you just have to make a very small feeler pick and wrench.

I think thats a tsa luggage lock and the small key hole is the bypass so the airport staff can open it without touching the combo,

Here is teh website. I found this lock on the ground, in the middle of nowhere, in Canada. I thought it was a cool find.

If I can find a cable for my digital camera I will put a pic or two of the keyhole.

You should be able to sesame decode that, or just pull on the shackle and feel for give in the wheels.

Basically pull, find the wheel that is the hardest to turn, turn it until you find the sopt where there seems to be less tension on it, leave it there, and move on to the next hardest to move wheel.

Have a look here- http://www.geocities.com/masterunlocked/thumb_wheel2.html

If you don't have any feeler stock, you can use the metal bit out of a security tag.

Hope this works!

On a related note, does anyone have a detailed process for opening combination master locks?

Unbreakable. you ever use one of those security tags for a sesamee? i've been using it to get to the cams but i cant see the difference in travel after it gets into the actual space between cam and dial. is it possible that it is thin enough to jump the cam every setting?

Yes I have, but I used it on a lock that had a notch instead of a flat spot, in which case I had to turd the shim on a angle so the point of one side was touching the wheel.

Based on the size of the lock,I think it seems logical that it could be using notches, so you might want to try turning your shim on an angle.

Um... about that... I only have a homemade tension wrench, a pick, and a half diamond... I did make a shim, and it worked, but I haven't been able to replicate it.

Ypu opened the combo lock you found?

If so, why do you need to replicate it?

I'm sorry, I'm just a little confused. Are you referring to the lock you found or a masterlock combo lock?

If a masterlock combo lock, they can be manipulated, shimed, or picked via the keyhole at the back.

I had a shim that worked. I have opened a masterlock combo lock. I'm having trouble with the Eagle Creek dial combo lock.
