Messages waiting indication

It is not difficult to add, but is it possible this site admin could put a function to indicate messages waiting on the left side menu (maybe in parenthesis next to the word "messages"). It seems people may not be reading their PM's

That would be nice to have. I never chech my messages, not that I have very many. But that would be a nice addition.

Yes, that would indeed help. In fact that was one of the first things I noticed when the site changed.

Hopefully just a minor flaw that could be fixed or added.

I have the option set to popup a new window whenever I get a private message. Of course... I havn't gotten a PM in along time, so I don't know how well it works ever since they changed the site to hide all that good info...

Thanks to db, I've verified that the pop-up notification window option works perfectly.

Hah. I just posted the same thing over here. Even included a picture of "Messages (1)" on the left menu bar.
