Master padlock 140d

I am quite new to lockpicking.I got this Master padlock 140d which is 4 pin standart security padlock(well that's what it says on the package).I strugled with it from the start what must like five weeks ago now I can open it (rake)sometimes three times in a row within 15 sec and other day it takes me 15 minutes to open it just once.Would anyone know are there any security pins in that particular model.Yeah I've tried picking it but somehow i find raking easier.Thanks

Yes, Masterlocks #140-150 contain spools, so I assume the 140 would be no exception. I don't know in what pin positions though.....

Try learning to SPP (single pin pick), it should be easier once you learn how, and you should be able to open the lock more consistanately.

The master 140's are my favorite moral boosters! I have several from 140-142. They do indeed have spools and is the perfect lock for a noob to practice spools since you can feel the pics and work them so easily on these models!

You will never learn how to defeat security pins that way!

The key to these models is light tension! When you SPP and the lock feels like it's locked up, that's where you want to be! Now it's simply finding the correct pin to push up on as you ease of the tension. You probably will not find the right pin right away and the lock will free up again. Simply repeat to get to the "jammed" position again, and try a different pin. Repeat as needed.

Really fun lock! Once you get it, it's a lot faster then raking it!
