Im a college student and basically looking for a fun hobby besides drinking(which is fun) to do on the weekend. I have always been interested in lock picking and that sort of deal. My question is not so much where to buy a basic pick, but this statement. "By placing an order for locksmithing tools, the buyer asserts to be, without fraud or deception, a bonafied member of the locksmithing industry, or other qualified personnel." Can i just go ahead and order a basic set as a hobby or are they serious?
Thanks,
john

no they're not that serious... it's just them doing a "CYA" so as they are not liable if you do something stupid...
just order away... although some places will be a little more strict about certain products or certain companies all together

Yeah go ahead, and place your order. What, and where are you getting them. Maybe we can help spend your money a little more wisely.

i like lockpicks.com. good prices, fast shipping, great customer service. oddly enough, however, they require a locksmith's license to order some things, bump keys being one of them.

If you aren't sure whether you'll stay long, get the cheap 8-pcs standard southord set, or the 9 pcs slimline. That's all you need to pick most locks.
I wouldn't get the 5-pc slimline, the long hook they give is really hard to work with on my locks.
