ok thanks for that tip :D I shall no longer discuss picking locks i do not own... and shall refrain from said activities I hadnt read the rules since i started here...

I however help friends and family with lockouts. therefore that rule should be without permission and legal rights?

well actually the whole reason I am making the pick for the tubular lock lucky is i do own one and want to pick it... a regular tension wrench is a pain to use and im studying to be a locky... thus as much practice on anything i can find is good practice.

btw why no edit button I dont want to just collect junk posts...

It doesn't take a moderator to "correct" you. When it comes to ethics and lock picking, we are pretty well a self-policing community.

Kudos to anyone that upholds the zero-tolerance for picking locks without permission.

it was this quote right here db... why i had responded in a somewhat hostile manner towards him.

he makes a valid point but is it really his to make? that is why i brought up a mod correcting me would be more well received... and i do apologize for taking about picking things that are not in my possession... as i am a very busy person i lurk and watch the discussions but many times cannot respond to them and had forgotten the rules I shall look them over again and even try to memorize them but man i joined in like 05 sometime... so i had forgotten that policy and i have take part in other discussions with members about toilet paper locks and such before...

but i do apologize it will not happen again i assure you.

I will say that that last comment may have been a little over the top. Sorry about that. I just wanted to emphasize that when post are made about lock picking, they need to be held in regard to either the sport of it, or the business aspect of locksmithing. And you should refrain from posting about anything illegal in nature. What I was getting at was that if you ever wish to gain access into the advanced forums, you may not want to talk about illegal activities. It was not directed at you personally, but more towards anyone who makes comments about such things. I was just trying to imply that posts about illegal activities will only hinder people in finding out more information about picking (in all aspects). Most people don’t want to give information about how to break into a house to a guy who has committed B&E in the past. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if we want to get this sport out of the shadows(as zeke79 said) we need to steer clear from anything illegal, and post more about picking as a sport and a hobby. Sorry to sound so rude about it all, I just can't stand to hear picking being joked about when it’s being carried out in illegal actions. That’s what we, as lock hobbyist and smiths need to be wary of. All (well, hopefully most of them at least) comments on this sport should be directed as contributing towards the ethical use of picks, not the hindrance.
Wow, sorry about all that guys,, went on a little rant there. And sorry if I offended anyone on that topic. These are just my opinions, and thoughts. I do care about bringing Lock picking out from the shadows and into the accepted minds of the public. And I think that we all just need to do what we can to make that happen.

Its cool and i totally agree with you... Same thing as with my other hobby computer security it has such a bad reputation due to skript kiddies wanting to get into nasa or federal reserve or ________(fill in)

When some of us just want to learn network security to its fullest...

Hacking is a great thing and should be applied to every situation... finding the most efficient means to over come a goal... Whether it is legally pointing out security flaws... or just making things easier on yaself and at the same time learning every aspect of somethings creation and existance

I like to hack everything in life. My friend many times wont play card games with me due to the fact i am a magician and even if i dont cheat they will accuse me of such.

I think the rest of this post should go in General chatter so im gonna save it... but you get the idea... Hack the planet doesnt mean hack every server.

okay, after all this, let me apologize sincerely for starting this all and restate that I abhor my previous actions and no longer do such things. I now have the integrity and values to know enough that it is immoral to pick locks that I don't own and don't have permission to open.
