Thank you for all the fine answers.

I did get a PM here from someone who evidently wants to remain anonymous. They said something like:

It's like having male equipment, just because you have it, doesn't make you a rapist. It's all about permission to use your equipment in a given slot..:)

heheh.

Thats good.

Personally, to rationalize it, I would point out that I have a backup job option, and something to put myself thru university on.(only in grade 10 currently)

Another more dramatic one is that what I spend on tools and locks, my friends spend in a month on drugs/booze. I'm at home playing with a Sargent , while they're out dropping acid.

That one can be pretty effective.

dude. one word. guns.

tons and tons of people love to shoot guns. and at stationary and moving targets. and animals, etc.

however, just because joe nobody owns like 10 guns and shoots them off for 4 hours everyday at the shooting range, doesnt mean hes practicing to go on a crazy rampage at school next week.

and there are tons of people who have guns against the law and dont use them for evil purposes.

and really, whenever lock picking comes into the convo, i just say i am a locksmith or a training locksmith, regardless. just because there are people out there (and a lot of them) who wouldnt understand doing something for the challenge of overcoming a lock (or any other thinger, etc)

well, i am gonna go play hitman blood money, and that is bleeping awesome!

That quote is from a real time radio debate. Some Anti-NRA lady VS a Pro-NRA guy. It was awesome..!

One of my favorite sayings is "Just cause a cat has kittens in the oven don't mean you call them biscuits." Meaning, theres more than one way of looking at things. Some people always choose to think the worst, and it's almost imposible to change their minds.

explaining it

Postby greyman » 2 Nov 2006 8:08

It's one thing to explain what lockpicking is or why you like it.

But what about why you got into it in the first place? I bet people here have very different reasons for that.
