Thats a pretty unecessary comment old chap, especially when the manner of your question would baffle even the picking gods.

What europick are you talking about? Do you man the bent piece of wire that is being marketed for thumbturn locks? If so the answer is no!

I won't name call instead I will make correction... My reply refers to the fact that your initial question has little to no relavence to anything at all.

lets see.
What euro pick?
huh???

You have posted a question to whuch you neglected to put any substance and therefore leave the reader in the dark. How can one answer a question that has no description of the problem.

let me ask you this....

can....?

Now lets approach you reply

misinformed bag of hammers wrote:you north americans are cocky and arrogant.

So how does the area of the world I live in have anything to do with this or anything at all infact, I just can't figure it out. I mean for all you know I was born and raised to europe and then moved to NA to now be generalized as such. Or should I believe that you as a european must have greasy slicked back hair only wear adidas jumpsuits and long chains?

NOw I think the real approach we need to look at is how exactly did my initial reply engage the definitions of cocky or arrogant......

Cocky: overly self-confident or self-assertive
Arrogant:having or showing feelings of unwarranted importance out of overbearing pride

hmmmmm...
well my initial reply was a non-sensical question in reply to one.
so by making such a statment implied pride or that I was overly self-confident. If so I'd like to be informed how.

I think you may need to think before you type as you obviously don't.
Oh and if you want to lump me in with a group make sure it's smaller then an area that incorporates nearly 36 sepereate countrys or independant parts of others.

Cheers

Europick

Postby Bump » 4 Nov 2006 7:55

To be constructive, I am assuming you mean the wire pick that is being sold by http://www.locksmith-tools.co.uk/.

If you study a europrofile lock you will see that it relies on a free floating double butterfly type cam engaging with the outer cam, this is normally done when you insert the key; each side shuttles the inner cam into the engaged position, its only the tip of the key that actually turns the cam.

When the key is inserted on the opposite side means that the aforementioned cam is now disengaged on your side. If you're lucky the key might be orientated in line with the pins and you might be able to disengage it using a key blank or wire, mostly it isn't and the key is immovable.

You need to take such a lock apart and study it!
