Once you try this way you wont bother with a messy marker again
To each their own.
I couldn't help but say this, but if you know how to use a marker, their not messy at all.

Just needs to be thinned down, some fine tuning and you'll be on your way.
You didn't specify whether you used a template or just freehanded the cuts out, if you didn't use a template try using the one Exodus posted on the first page of this thread.

Marker always got harder to see after a lot of quenching /grinding. Also no errors during the cutting / sticking / marking process with a stick on template. It is as printed, and quicker.
Try it you will be converted

As a matter of fact I tried it last night. From what I have experienced with this process, it's just one more step to take to acquire the same result.
That is why I stated "To each their own". It should be noted that one particular good way for making something doesn't mean that is the best way, maybe for you and others...but not me.
I'll stick with the way I do it now, as it is more proficient and quicker for me. I'll take it you have not seen my picks and workmanship.
Nice try, but no thanks.

There are many many ways to making templates work, just work with what you have and don't be shy to try anything new.
Most of all have fun doing it in a safe way.

Hy everybody.
I really appreciate this template. It seems perfect!
My only problem about it is that I don't understand why if I print the template I get a huge pick (23,6 cm equal to 9,3 inches)! can you please tell me the total lenght the printed teplate should have toe to tip?
Thank you so much!

The resolution you're printing at probably doesn't match the resolution of the image. Here's the specs on it:
The pick itself (the area in black) should measure against a ruler:
Length: 3.50 inches.
Height: 0.15 inches
In metric thats:
Length: 8.80 cms
Height: 0.40 cms
Image resolution: 500 pixels/inch or 196.85 pixels/cm
I really should make a habbit of always posting the exact measurements on my templates as well... I should include them in the actual image probably.

i used the template look from this thread, but i free-handed it. I made sure it was the right size, but im an art student i felt like i wanted to "go without the grid" so to speak. And no, i havent tried it, im not experienced enought too, i just have to do a sheet metal project for class, so while i was practiseing i thought i would make something that *might* be useful, prolly not though
