Ebay find

Postby Lucky1406 » 10 Nov 2006 16:37

I was looking on ebay and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/locksmit ... 1526QQrdZ1

My only problem is of how much he is ripping off people with his shipping! oh well. Though if ebay finds out, they may pull it.
Or, maybe ebay is allowing picks to be sold online? that would be cool,
Nick

from the look of the linked page, I don't think eBay likes them.

No picks on EBay

Postby fjardeson » 12 Nov 2006 16:46

EBay doesn't allow picks, bypass devices, etc. on their site. To quote their forbidden item policy:

EBay Site wrote:eBay does not permit the listing of any lockpicking or locksmithing device.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

* Listing cancellation
* Limits on account privileges
* Account suspension
* Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
* Loss of PowerSeller status

Locksmithing Devices: lock picks, lockpicking sets, lockpicking cards, tension bars, lockpicking guns, autolock bypass keys ("jigglers"), try-out keys, "slim-jims," tubular lock picks, digital decoders and code grabbing devices.

Key Cutters: Devices designed for making an impression of a key or similar security device to duplicate such a key or device.

While I have found great LOCKS on EBay, you'll have to go elsewhere for the pick tools etc. They can't really control the location of the buyer, and different countries have very different rules regarding locksmithing devices. Not to mention the USA forbids mailing of lock picks, etc (note when you buy 'em they use UPS or Fed-Ex)

I'll call your S&G 8500 and raise you a RKL-10!

Not exactly, it depends on whom they are mailed to. See page 8 of this document http://www.security.org/bumping_legal_mwt.pdf. At the bottom of the page 8 you will see the title on the law on nonmailability of locksmith devices. Just scroll down to the top of page 9 for info on when it can be mailed.
