same here. I don't want to spend plus $20.00 on shims that might be unreliable. :?

psh
the lock on the back is a 3-pin
you need a fairly small tension tool to fit it
but i still say shimming is wayy easier...
after a while making more than 70 shims you kinda get the hang of the way they should be shaped to make it take only a few secs...
mayb what you guys are doing wrong is your not pre-fiting the shim into the lock?
im not talking about wrapping it around a pen.. im talking about actually putting it into a lock and closing the shackle and moving it side to side to get the shape you need. Beware if you use weak metal it might rip. But if you use stronger ones than those coke/7-up cans it will help. ^.<

D@mn it boy! SEARCH and READ.

Use the search function at the top of the site, and enter a word. You would be amazed at how much stuff is here.

Honestly, take two days and just read. If you honestly still have questions after that, fine.

All the ones I've seen are actually 4 pin cylinders, pinned to 4 pins....

I've seen the master keys for the ones at our school (Forgot a Combo once  ) I'm pretty sure it was a 3-pin on the indiviual padlocks. For the lockers themselves, I think it's a 4 pin. Not that it really matters, considering anyone who's stupid enough to pick random lockers at a school will be disapointed and caught (security cameras, joy. </sarcasm>).
Otherwise, I'd spend time trying to learn how to pick the more complex 4, 5 and security pinned padlocks. They're much more fun and you don't make people think you're using these skills for a bad purpose. ( I Still can't get that Brinks!)
Parsley!
