Hi all, I stumbled across some videos about bumping, and was intrigued straight away with the simplicity of it, but i also want to take up lock picking.

Obviously, its not for malicious purposes, It just facinates me :)

I saw the video on google with instructions how to make a lock pick set using carbon hacksaw blades, which was linked to here.....hence the reason i am here! (Your advertising works)

My question is, 'Iss there a template i can print out to make a basic lock pick? I'm having trouble judging the size & dimensions of the picks that were created in the video.'

Thank you :D

There are many around, this one covers the basics, it was made by Romstar.

Also see this thread, down near the bottom- viewtopic.php?t=8142&highlight=template

For hooks, a replica falle safe set would be nice- viewtopic.php?t=16001&highlight=template

Hope this helps, and welcome to the site!

Hello Snowyboy,

First of all, allow me to welcome you to the website.

Secondly: there should be some templates floating around the website, mainly in the "Lockpicks - Manual" part of the forum (which is dedicated to pickmaking and picks in general).

Apart from that, i'll just tell you what every new member gets to hear on their first visit.
1: Don't pick locks that aren't yours.
2: Search before you ask.
3: Don't be afraid to ask if the search didn't help.

If you want to talk locks, security or picking, feel free to add me to msn messenger, or PM me, or whatever.
You'll find out soon enough that we're an open community.

Yours,
Jordy

Argh.....

Just realized the Falle safe template pdf is for locksportarchives is for member only. To apply you have to have 20+ or 30+ posts on LP101.

I can email it to you, with Zeke's permission of course. HE is the owner of locksportarchives, and a mod on here.

Thanks unbreakable, I literally just found the template you posted in the other forum (i should have checked more thoroughly really)

I am open to all text/info on locks as i've already got a little folder going on full of cutaway diagrams, videos, info etc You would be helping my collection, and i would be most appreciative :)

Jordyh, Thanks for the warm welcome :D I'm feeling right at home already :D

You may see me floating about here from time to time, But i also have my car projects running along side taking on new hobbies, So if i'm not here, don't worry, I'll pop in now and again to post my findings (I'm sure i can't teach any of you anything new) :)

My MSN is Lightside55 AT hotmail DOT com (I posted it like this to stop E-mail spiders), You will find i am away a lot on MSN, but i always reply to messages at some point :D
