Hi People, Great site,

I currently work for a UPVC glazing firm and everyday we are being asked to change locks/gain entry through damaged locks/ replace old UPVC door locking mechanisms etc etc, there is defiantly a market for a locksmith in our area firstly offering basic services like new/replacement locks/security upgrades. Then maybe start offering the service full time. In the form of 24hr Service. As our free phone number rings at stupid times when people are locked out. We install approx 7 doors a week so the future business is there! Obviously lost keys are not under our guarantee.
Can anybody point me in the right direction for Reputable Locksmith Course? I have been researching them four months now and I’m more confused than when I started.
I would be grateful for any advice/help.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).

Cheers,

im a noob

Postby camosurfer » 19 Nov 2006 18:40

hey guys,
I have to admit I am a noob at lock picking, heck I dont even have a set yet but I am very interested in getting one.
I love to do magic and I would love to add lock picking to my arsenal. I need a small set to unlock masterlocks and other things like handcuffs. 9pin locks would just be a plus.
I found this site that has what I am looking for but I have no idea if it is good or not.
http://www.defensedevices.com/concealed-lock-pick-set.html
thats the site were I found. (keep in mind that i need them to fit into my wallet or pocket) So if someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Intro

Postby burlz24 » 19 Nov 2006 18:51

Hey everyone,
I've been into Lock sports for about 2 years. I've taken many couses in Locksmithing, unfortunately home study courses. Not much hands on. I'm also currently enrolled in a metal machining course (night school)that will hopefully give me an understanding in the manufacturing techniques or locks and bypass/decoder tools used for HS locks and hardware. Also studying electronics at George Brown in Toronto Ontario. I fit work in there somewhere too :P

Hi I found this site with Google. I don't know much about lock picking, but I can help my friends get into their cars when they lock themselves out of them.

Hey people of LP101.
I've been learning how to pick locks for a while now and have a pretty good idea of how they work and stuff (well really only simple locks like you would find on lockers, doors, etc but oh well)

I can pick any of the wooden school lockers pathetically easily because they're REALLY cheap, but oh well, it's still fun, and i enjoy putting random objects in them that couldn't possibly fit in the gaps and lockign them back up, oh jollity.

Anyway, Hey to everyone here.
Remember kids, procrastination is the answer.
