Any good for training the basics or just another con?

City & Guilds approved?

I've read most of the posts regarding training but nobody seems to recomend any course, surely you guys started some where?

I'm sure you get 1,000 posts a day on this but please stop us thowing our money away. I must say the best training i have done to date is sj's guide to re pinning euro cylinder, fantastic post for the beginner try at home.

thanks

A lot of us master lock picking in the same way we mastered hacking, just by doing it.

I think Pinky has a good course though, if it is still running.

forget city and guilds approved, the only recognised qualification is the MLA NVQ , which will take around 4 years to complete, no other recognised certificate or qualification exists, despite claims , and certainly not in 2 to 3 days.

there are very few good basic courses that cover even the basics well, alot of hype and alot of promises, but very little else.

Look at the courses on offer, if they promise the earth beware, if they advertise non recognised certification, beware and of course if they promise that the road ahead following their course is paved with gold, then again beware.
If they teach you the basics well, then thats a good grounding, the rest will be up to you entirely.
