I had typed out a short method but after re-reading your post i have a few questions first,

How is it your safe but you dont know how to open it even with the combo?

Is it your safe?

Are you allowed to be opening the safe?

Have you just found a bit of paper and a combo written on it?

If all is answered satisfactory then i see no harm in telling you which direction to turn the dial in as its only somthing i should think any Brinks dealer will tell you anyway,

If you really want the safe open you could use some thermite. or if you are like me, a thermal lance. All in all, advance material.
If all fails, use nitroglycerine.

I don't see the harm in sharing the opening procedure on this site. There's no reason for sarcasm by folks who aren't even in the adv. forum. The adv. forum is reserved for safe BYPASS techniques, and not common information about safes.

But as Shrub acutely pointed out, this may be the case of a kid who found his parent's combo scrawled on a piece of paper, possibly hidden under the safe.

If I knew anything about this safe, I would be willing to field a phone call to speak with the original poster directly. Where are you physically located manjafeta? HOME is not an adequate answer.

Raccoon sure got that right, no need for all the sarcasm. But somehow "howmany right of lefts or what ever" doesn't inspire much confidence.

i dont see why you guys were yelling at him, its not like hes asking to actually "crack" the safe, he just wants to know what directions to put the combination in.
It's ok guys, i have a really bad attention sp-wow look, a beach!

the sarcasm may have stemmed from the original posters lack of respect by asking a question and then not fully explaining himself, just expecting everyone to cater to his "howmany right of lefts or what ever can someone help me" It sounded Like a "just give me a way to get in so I can get off of this forum" post and not come back unless i have another question.

Plus he didn't even say please... :(

If he had put in some effort to his question maybe people would be more open. (effort as in explain his situation fully)

But I may have just been looking at his post all wrong.

Ahh I apologize,
I didn’t see the "have combo" part

You should give a bit more info so people with reading disabilities :( ... like me  can understand (I do try to put my post thru Microsoft word)

If you have combo just try it one way then the other :?

I, like stray, may have just been looking at his post all wrong

Spell check complete,

A simple google search turned up this:

General Turning Sequence Instructions
Brinks Safes Models: 5054/5055/5059/5080/5081/5084/5111/5190/5195/5575/5700/5702.

Combinations consist of FOUR (4) positions (numbers).
BEFORE YOU START
Before you begin, please clear all settings by turning the dial CLOCKWISE (to the right)
three times. We also recommend to try the procedure with your safe door open first. Then
follow these steps:
TURNING SEQUENCE
1. Start the dial on 0 (zero).
2. Turn the dial to the RIGHT, passing your first combination number FOUR (4) times and stopping at that number on the fifth time around.
3. Turn the dial to the LEFT, passing your second combination number TWO (2) times and stopping at that number the third time around.
4. Turn the dial to the RIGHT, passing your third combination number ONE (1) time and stopping at that number the second time around.
5. Turn the dial to the LEFT, to the last combination number and STOP.
6. Insert the key in the cylinder lock and turn RIGHT to open.
Your safe should now be opened.

P.S.: mods, if this should be considered advanced, I apologize - seems to me though that basic usage instructions for a safe (as you would find in it's manual) are not exactly advanced...

THANK YOU FOR THE HELP

Postby manjafeta » 26 Nov 2006 4:49

thank you for the help with my problem! I do have more respect for some of you guys. I never really realized that you all are the guardians of the worlds personal security and privacy and if not for this whole safe thing a would of spent the rest of my life driving by these locksmith shop I see all the time and not see them for what they are and represent. and for the comment on the simplicity of my question I dont know enough about locksmithing to really do better I was just turning to where I guessed would be a source for this answer. I'm in the automoble business and can talk with inteligence on that and a few other topics but your trade I knew little of. so closing I as of this am going to send my key business to the local locksmith instead of the corner hardware store. who knows mabey some day I will run in to the first guy who answered my post. and he and my self could finnish are conversation. the rest of you guys I understand now the reason for the difficultness of crowd and I am thankful you all have the sense of duty to keep from giving information to people with dishonest intention. so for all of those who took a positive part of the process of getting me my answer I thank you and leave my respect for what it is that you are doing. a rest asured that the help went to and honest person just trying to open a safe he bought an was not give all the info to open it.
