*WARNING*
im new so i do not know all the terms to things T.T

ok....i have been working a way to find combos to locks AFTER they have been shimed to reuse them(no point in wasting a good lock).

I have come up a way to find the 1st number:
place the shackle in the lock but not all the way in so it locks.then turn it to the right till you feel it go down..take that number and go right 2-4 numbers. this gives the first number..this works because the little knobs on the thing that does the combo in the inside of the lock pull down on the thingy holding the shackle.(the thing i picked up and threw out in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svvPFu5mxdE)

I am now trying to find ways to get the other numbers....any gusses?
*told you my terms are bad*

You are missing one important thing there,

The aim isnt to open the lock but to learn how to open the lock and have the feeling of opening the lock without bypassing it, as a hobby forum this rush is the reason locks are picked/manipulated, to bypass is cheating or for lockies.

I suppose in a way it can be compared to a stunt driver,
You can drive a car from A to B normaly and quite quickly but all the fun is being able to do it on 2 wheels, it may take longer and be a lot harder to do but once done you get a much better high from it,

im new here
im trying somthing similerbut with a 3 wheel padlock. the guy that i work with has been a locksmith 37 years told me it was a wast of time, that i would not be able to feel the gates. so i sarted working with them in my spare time and sofar to start with thers 150 locks, ive opened 20, not one of those have i shimed, and i have it up to a 70% rate. what that means is that i was able to open the lock by feeling the gates 70% of the time.

If you want to see if you can up that figure have a play around with a stephoscope or such like to see if you can hear the gates when you cant feel them,

Some locks work better when the shackle is being pulled or pushed as well i believe,
