military padlock

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

A chastity belt with a 7kg padlock. nice. but no.
It is a great lock for locking down military machines and equipment. even tanks. If you lock up the drive wheel, the tank would be imobilized. it could rotate, but going back and forth would be impossible. and for your information. The abloy protec is availabe for this padlock. abloy product code is CY201N.

available for the swedish military only.

you would have to cut the shakle twice to open it. to retract the shakle out of the lock you would have to push it down 10mm and turn 38 degrees. only then can you pull out the shakle completely out. if you cut the shakle you can still not push it down, unless the cut you make in the shakle is at least 10mm wide.

I will grab a s&g 833 from work and post a picture with the 833 and the v-102 together. the 833 is wee tiny in comparison.

Old MIL SPEC lock for ammo or explosives storage bunkers.

You should see the ones they use now.

Have not seen one of them since the 1970s.

The question is also: HOW is something like this destroyed...

More than likely to destroy these locks they take a plasma cutter to it or they could take it to the local EOD shop and have them put a shape charge through it.

Some one posted that they use this lock on tanks to lock them, I was a tanker and we never used anything like that we just used the American locks on the Abrahms and Bradleys.

nope. they are melted down at the rönnskär smelter in the north of sweden to exact.
and yes these locks are still produced. I dont know if people lock down tanks with them but it can be done indeed.

If you forgot that your tank was locked up and started to take off, which would break first: the lock or the tank???
