I have a suggestion and I don't know if it is possible with this type of forum format. When using the search button and you are wanting to look something specific say using the keywords (best) and (padlock) you will receive all posts with both the keywords instead of it cross referencing the words and only giving you those post with those words in them. This is very frustrating and may be a deterent for some. Keep in mind this is only a suggestion and may not even be possible. I've noticed that forums with the same format as yours have the same problem.

I would say that feature exists, but appears to be broken at the moment. When you tick the bullet that states "Search for all terms", it's supposed to return results that contain each of the words being searched for. However, at present, there appears to be no functional difference between the two options.

Thanks for pointing this out!

"best padlock"
or
best AND padlock

there are a few other things that work like NOT OR ... thats all i know but they work

I think his issue is that the search function searches *topics*, not posts - and he wants to seach only for both keywords within a specific post.

AFAIK, very, very few forums would support something like that... but at any rate, the search features work exactly as designed

cmon guys. if you're going to give helpful advice, at least test it out first.

simple fact is, the forum's search is broken. there are NO options or boolean keywords that provide the desired results.

chalk this one up to something mr. picks just needs to fix.

I agree with racoon, this needs to be fixed if possible. I belong to several different forum and they work just as I stated above with the cross referencing of keywords. All the fourms that I belong to with htis style format all have this sam problem. Say for instance I belong to ar15.com, some of you may be gun supporters and some not but, go over there and use there search button and you will see the difference betwwen the search on this forum and the one on that one. Don't want to stir up a stink I just think you'll save on bandwith with less questions and more successful searches.
