Sliding Glass Door Locking Mechanism

Postby pinkandgeek » 28 Nov 2006 22:37

Does anyone have a method for unlocking a sliding glass door easily? Well, more easily than picking it. I have had some sucess with lifting the door out of the track, but i was wondering if anyone else knows of a possible part of the lock that can be exploited.

Welcome new members!

As long as you read the rules, read the new users section, search, respect other members, don’t pick locks you rely on, and don’t use this site to steal stuff, we’ll be nice to you

You sound a bit suspicous to be asking about sliding door locks on your first post......
If all fails, use nitroglycerine.

Hey, welcome to the site and such. Everyone gets this lecture so it is not directed at you necessarily...

first off always follow these simple rules:

1) Search before you ask, this makes life better for everyone because there are less repeat threads and we're not answering the same "what is a bump key" type questions over and over.

2) DON'T PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON!!! This means if the lock is attached to a door, cabinet, vehicle, chastity belt, casket, whatever... unless it is there for the SOLE PURPOSE of being picked, DO NOT PRACTICE WITH THAT LOCK. You CAN and WILL break it... and then your in trouble.

3) DONT PICK LOCKS YOU DONT OWN!!! The only thing worse then breaking the lock attached to your sister's chastity belt is breaking a lock you don't own. Unless you are a locksmith or have EXPLICIT permission to pick a lock, with the owner understanding the lock may be damaged, DO NOT PICK IT.

That being said check out these places for helpful information on getting started.

The MIT Guide to lock picking can be found:

HERE

the LSI Guide to lock Picking can be found:

and check out EVERY link found on this page, they are all great:

I'm surprised no one addressed the question he posed yet.

You're asking about bypass methods. Bypass methods are not addressed in this forum (at least not the public forums) - we ONLY discuss picking locks. If you're interested in securing your sliding glass door, talk with your local hardware specialist (or not, considering how little most hardware stores know about locks).

considering this nimrod hasn't come back to defend his asking on how to break into sliding doors me thinks that he realized this site is a lost cause for that type of info
