Sweet.
I'm thinking the shafts need a bit more filing though. Maybe its the angle, but they should be thinner and more tapered.

So go with the grinder. Then, use needle files for close work or touch ups, then stone and sand the pick. If you really feel the need, get a good buffing wheel and some jewler's rouge.
There isn't a lot I can't do with a grinder.

If it makes anyone feel better, I just finished my first bogota rake. It is horrible but surprisngly still works o.k. For one i used a template and a grinder. The template was supposed to be a 1:1 ratio or you print it off as it is. It is much larger than a bogota is supposed to be. So after finishing it i tryed it on my front door. It set all but one of the pins. I tried multiple times same result. So I am probally gona trash this one and try again.

Around here just about everything comes back from the dead eventually. I am beginning to think we are dealing with a bunch of closet necropheliacs or something.
They got me with a post that was two years old.

I'm kinda new around here and have to ask....what is a "Bogota"?
Is it a design? Is it a brand? Is it something only related to this forum?
I'm not exactly new to picks and picking locks for a living, but I've never herad the term before.
I will say though, some of you guys do some fantastic looking work. I've had the same set of store bought picks for about 10 years or better. Honestly, I had never really thought of making my own or branching out too much. I have a rake, hook and half diamond that I normally use. If they wont work in a few minutes, I grab the gun, then rotoray pick. But, you guys are doing this as a sport/hobby and I do it for a living where time is money.

It's a set of picks that were designed by a member on this forum....raimundo. He will sell you some if you can't make them yourself

Raimundo created this style pick while he was in Bogota, hense the name.
He has blessed this community by sharing not only the design, but the way they are made.
They work amazingly well, and some people have even likened them to black magic.
As for time being money, I agree, but at the same time I am a working locksmith, and I have discovered that the better I am with my picks, the better I can serve customers who are locked out.
It does tend to save money in the long run.
