Howdy all,
I have been lurking for a while on this site and i finally decided to start invloving myself. I am pretty new to picking. (learned everything i know from you guys) After I finally convinced my family and friends that lock picking is not a criminal activity, i got to pickin and now i love it. Its a great hobby. I wish i had access to more locks, but in the mean time i just try to read about all the locks that you guys pick until i can afford more locks. Anyways now i seem to be rambling. Thanks for the great site and all the info, soon i hope to contrubute to the great disscussions.

Howdy, I'm new here. I introduced myself in another thread, but it belongs here instead:
This, like all the other hobbies I get addicted to, came at me out of nowhere. The neighbor locked herself out of her bedroom and needed to get in to get her medication. 50 bucks and two hours later she was able to get back in with the help of a locksmith. However I've resigned myself to never again feel helpless when presented with a $5 cheapo Kwikset lock and no keys. I have a beginner's pick set on the way from exit-10. After I mess around with that set, I'll probably end up making my own rakes and tension wrenches thanks to the great video by pyro1234.
Thanks!

If your new, introduce yourself here. Other posts/threads will be deleted as I see them from now on.
Regardless though, let me be the first to welcome you to the forums.

I just got to playing around with an old deadbolt and got hooked. Was easy the first time...the pins didn't have a lot of height difference. Trying a new lock that does and am having difficulties..see my other post.

Hi All,
I am in the towing business and have been doing car unlocks for about three years now. Last year I bought a set of picks for my kid at a tow show. I advertise in the yellow pages under locksmiths for car unlocks but about half the calls I get are for houses/apartments (people don't read well, or they are desperate!). The kid wasn't so interested in the picks so I have "borrowed" them back and am learning how to pick so I can take care of those house lockouts too. I have learned so much from reading here. All the doorknob locks and file cab's in the house and at the office have succumbed to my efforts, so I am now looking for other challenges. Thanks to the mod's for starting and maintianing this site. I'll try to figure out the search functions before asking too many q's. I have read the MIT guide already (been visiting about 2 weeks now) and am working on developing a "lighter touch".
Thanks again,
Rod
