first pick, please critique

I just finished making my first pick.

The lighting and focus looked a lot better on the little display screen, but you can still see most of the details.

But anyway, my first pick, done free hand on a grinder. I'd appreciate any critiques. But if you have something negative about it, please give me a tip on how to improve upon it.
Thanks.

Looks kinda thick, but see how well it works, that is all that matters.

the thinest part just before the bend is just about 4/32 inch, the tip is 3/32 inch.

sand, sand, sand. get some emry paper (fine and super fine) start with the fine work to the super fine, by the time you're done you should have it look like a mirror and make it a little thinner

ok, so i'll make the hook a little smaller, and get the whole thing a little thinner too. Thanks guys, I'll get to work on it when I get back from lunch.

I'm just duplicating previous coments I suppose, but it does look a little thick, and the tip seems to be a bit too tall.

The overall shape is really good, and if you shave just a bit off the bottom of the shaft, and lop a bit off the top of the hook, it should be great.

After that, just sand like a mad man.

Personally, I would lose the teeth from the blade, but that's entirely up to you.

Good luck, and congrats on your first pick.

Yes, congrats on the new pick. I won't repeat, but fallow the previous suggestions and you will be well on your way to good pick making.

A few people have said they like the extra grip they give you, a few others have said you never know when a hacksaw will come in handy.

It's a personal preference I suppose. From my point of view, I never liked the look of having the teeth there. Oh well, to each their own.

well, when you think about it, the saw is stainless steel and the pins are much softer.
Also to improve upon the pick I would suggest making the angle of it a little less steep, it looks about 75 degrees, i would reduce it to about 40-50 by cutting off the top half and sanding/filing on the inside of the curve a little more than the outside. other than that its great :D
It's ok guys, i have a really bad attention sp-wow look, a beach!
